"If the entire world would speak their mind, but still listen to what people say, then Heaven on Earth would be created.

Everyday I live life the way I want to live it, CARPE DIEM."

Past events:

2013 Carl Vuillaume Scholarship winners from Hinsdale South High School were awarded at the Thespian Banquet on May 21.  The winners are:  1st place - Maura Carr, 2nd place - Paige Perconti, and 3rd place tie - Stephanie Hart and Kelly Rocks.

Arbor Day 2013 was held on Friday April 26th, at 10:30 a.m. at Smart Oaks Park in Darien.  Four trees were planted in memory of Hunter Himes, Cory Michael Lyell, Tom Sarwark, and Dorothy & Edward Miller. Lace School and Cass Jr. High raised butterflies, which were released during the ceremony.  Almost 300 school children attended this celebration.  Thank you also to Kohl's of Elmhurst for providing volunteers to help[ make treat bags for all of the students.  We couldn't have done it without you!

"Regifting:  A Benefit Concert" was created by the talented HSHS Senior Maura Carr and sponsored by theater teacher, Pamela Baker-Karnstedt.  Students from both Hinsdale Central and Hinsdale South theater departments put on an amazing performance on Friday, April 12th.  Almost $4,000 was raised for the Foundation by these talented students.

Prior years "Lobby Shots" were sold for $15 each. If you would still like to purchase lobby shot photos, please contact Pamela Baker-Karnstedt at HSHS.  Thank you to all who came out that night and enjoyed the show.

The G of C has an ongoing financial grant program. For further information about this opportunity, contact us by e-mail at info@giftofcarl.org.

The life of Carl Vuillaume was truly a gift to all those who came in contact with him. To keep on giving in his memory, “The Gift of Carl Foundation” has been started. Throughout his life, Carl was encouraged to pursue many interests and he learned how to have fun in all sorts of diverse activities.

Playing was his favorite pastime, and he recognized that you play sports, play instruments, play outside, and act in plays. Carl touched many people in his short life through his spirit and smile, and taught us all to enjoy the here and now.

The Foundation is dedicated to the enhancement of educational opportunities in the areas that provided Carl the greatest joy:

Please visit the other pages of this site to learn about our charitable activities, fund-raising events, and how to contribute to the cause. The Gift of Carl Foundation is a Not for Profit Corporation, 501(c)(3), and all donations are tax deductible.
