In December 2008, the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) selected the G of C as its charity of choice for its fundraising efforts in 2009 & 2010. The IAEE's first event supporting the Foundation will be a wiffle ball tourament in February.
Also in December, the Foundation received a very generous donation from the William Clancy Foundation out of Chicago, IL.
On December 29, the Foundation delivered 11 refurbished instruments to Mather High School located in Chicago, IL for its band program. Thanks to PM Music Center of Aurora for their ongoing help with our Musical Instrument Recycling Program. |
The life of Carl Vuillaume was truly a gift to all those who came in contact
with him. To keep on giving in his memory, “The Gift of Carl Foundation” has
been started. Throughout his life, Carl was encouraged to pursue many interests
and he learned how to have fun in all sorts of diverse activities.
Playing was
his favorite pastime, and he recognized that you play sports, play instruments, play outside,
and act in plays. Carl touched many people in
his short life through his spirit and smile, and taught us all
to enjoy the here and now.
The Foundation is dedicated to the enhancement of educational opportunities
in the areas that provided Carl the greatest joy:

In memory of Carl Alan Vuillaume, the mission of The Gift of Carl Foundation, as approved by its board of directors, is to provide awareness and educational opportunities in the fields of Theater Arts, Literacy, Music and Environmental Education. All programs of the Corporation shall support that mission, and all who work for or on behalf of the Corporation shall understand and be loyal to that mission and purpose.
