"If the entire world would speak their mind, but still listen to what people say, then heaven on earth would be created.

Everyday i live life the way i want to live it, carpe diem."

— Carl Vuillaume

G of C news

In partnership with the Indian Prairie Public Library in Darien, the G of C hosted The Sound in June 2015. Local students competed for prize money by performing musical arragements as soloists or as a band.

The winners of the 2015 Carl Vuillaume Thespian Scholarship from Hinsdale South High School: Emma Webster (1st), Elizabeth O'Neill (2nd), Courtney Irwin (runner-up), Amelia Manley (runner-up), David Petrak (runner-up).

A big Thank You to the Hinsdale South and Hinsdale Central students who so graciously donated their time and talent for this years 3rd annual "ReGifting Benefit". The evening was fabulous and everyone enjoyed the event.  Almost $1,000 was raised by this group of students.

With the help of the Kohl's of Elmhurst "Kohl's Cares" program, 300 goody bags were made for the students and families who attended the 2015 Arbor Day Celebration.

We planted 8 memorial trees on 04/24/15 at Lindenwood Park in Darien.  It was a beautiful morning for the annual Celebration.  The students were educated about the importance of trees by The Morton Arboretum and also about fire safety by the Tri-State Firemen.

The life of Carl Vuillaume was truly a gift to all those who came in contact with him. To keep on giving in his memory, The Gift of Carl Foundation has been started. Throughout his life, Carl was encouraged to pursue many interests and he learned how to have fun in all sorts of diverse activities.

Playing was his favorite pastime, and he recognized that you play sports, play instruments, play outside, and act in plays. Carl touched many people in his short life through his spirit and smile, and taught us all to enjoy the here and now.

The Foundation is dedicated to the enhancement of educational opportunities in the areas that provided Carl the greatest joy:
